The 10% Rule Explained#
A common flaw in gamified habit apps is that missing one day permanently wipes out a 100-day streak with zero recourse, causing frustration. Conversely, allowing unlimited retroactive repairs destroys the psychological value of the streak.
Mudawim solves this with the 10% Streak Repair Rule:
Important Notice
You are eligible to repair missed days **up to ceil(10% of your continuous streak) built prior to the gap**.
This rule guarantees:
- A user with a 5-day streak can repair up to 1 missed day.
- A user with a 20-day streak can repair up to 2 missed days.
- A user with a 50-day streak can repair up to 5 missed days.
- A user who has only a 1-day streak cannot skip 3 days and pretend they have an active streak.

Repair Cost Pricing Table#
Repairing missed study days consumes Streak Coins earned from dedicated study sessions:

Unfixable Streaks & The 0-Day Display Rule#
If your missed gap exceeds your maximum fixable allowance (e.g. you missed 2 days with an 8-day streak, where Max Fixable = 1 day):
- Streak is Lost: The streak is mathematically broken and cannot be repaired.
- 0-Day Display: The Streak Page and Dashboard immediately show `0 days` for Current Streak (with subtitle *"Streak ended (10% rule)"*) to avoid misleading you.
- Danger Alert Banner: A destructive alert banner is displayed on the Streak and Rewards pages explaining the 10% rule limit.
- Fresh Start: Click "Start Fresh Today" to begin your next unbroken chain!
How to Repair a Missed Streak#
- When you open Mudawim after a missed day (within your 10% limit), the Streak Recovery Dialog or Streak Page Alert Banner will appear.
- Check the required coin cost against your balance.
- Click Fix Streak (X Coins).
- Mudawim backfills the missed dates, recalculates your streak, deducts the coins from your ledger, and restores your unbroken streak!
