Restore, Migration & Reset
Import backup files on a new device, merge existing workspaces, inspect storage quotas, or perform a clean application reset.
Importing a Backup File#
To restore your data on a new device or browser:
- Open Settings > Data Management.
- Click Import Backup File.
- Select your
mudawim_backup_*.jsonfile. - Mudawim validates the JSON structure and instantly loads your full learning environment.
Conflict Handling & Merging#
When importing a backup:
- Mudawim checks schema versions and auto-migrates legacy structures.
- All playlists, notes, streak dates, and coin records are validated before committing to storage.
Resetting All Application Data#
If you wish to wipe all data and start completely fresh:
- Go to Settings > Data Management.
- Scroll to Danger Zone: Reset Application.
- Type `DELETE` into the confirmation box.
- Click Reset Application. All local storage is cleared and initialized to factory defaults.
